This 1000 square foot cottage is located only 300 feet from the shore
of Lake Winnipeg. This is the 10th largest fresh water lake in the world, and the largest within the borders of southern
Canada. The small town of Matlock has many quiet beaches, long piers, and is only 45 minutes north of Winnipeg.
There is a small restaurant nearby and a community centre for kids during the summer. The cottage has a beautiful, old,
stone fire place, three bed rooms, a large private yard, well treed, and a quiet neighbourhood. There is a full bathroom,
full kitchen, and a futon in the living room. The interior is hardwood floors and fir walls. There are enough
beds for 6 to sleep.
You can book our tours and visit the largest Icelandic community and beach
further north, or see the limestone cliffs along Lake Winnipeg at Hecla Island. Willow Island is a remote area
that is only a quick drive away. Busy public beaches and a boardwalk are at Winnipeg Beach Provincial Park. On
windy days you can see the lake come alive with pounding waves. On calm evenings the full moon rises over this
inland sea. Spring water flows year round, there are endless beaches, and many birds.
