of Ottawa she ran the Outdoor Program, and led hiking trips to the Adirondack Mountains, Mont-Tremblant, the White Mountains,
Algonquin Park, Gatineau Park, and the Saguenay. She also led groups canoe camping, horsepaking, dogsledding, whale
watching, ice climbing, kayaking and biking. She has travelled through parts of South America, Europe, Asia, the
U.S and Canada. She has an undergraduate degree in geography, and has studied philosophy. Her favourite getaway
is the Canadian Shield, where ancient rocks and clear lakes soothe her soul.

Joseph
grew up growing vegetables and greenhouse plants. He studied environmental
science at the University of Manitoba and philosophy at the University of Winnipeg. Joseph enjoys learning about the
history of Manitoba and its wild places. He has over a decade of experience in survival and primitive
life skills, hand drill firemaking, wild edibles, and backwoods navigation. He has knowledge about endangered species,
medicinal plants, animal tracks, ethnobotany, astronomy, and more.
Joseph helped to buy
80 acres for an eco-village and experimental farm. Most of his spare time was spent in remote, wilderness
areas, far off the beaten paths.
